That’s a Wrap

Our Kub Kar race for 2024 is now complete. After over 60 races, there could only be one winner - congratulations to Hugo from 13th Malvern for taking out the no #1 spot and to Magnus from 1st Bentleigh and Liam from Bentleigh East Scout Group for taking our #2 and #2 respectively!

Congratulations to Kiera from 1st Mckinnon for taking out the “best looking Kub Kar” as voted by the Cubs. Kiera’s Kub Kar was made entirely of recycled materials and looked like a train. Joel from 10th Caulfield should also be commended on this 3D printed Kub Kar which was also voted very favourably by the Cubs.

The level of creativity, effort and workmanship was absolutely incredible to see across the board, as was the camaraderie and energy in the room at the races.

Ultimately, the success of the event is due to those Cubs who raced on the day. Your enthusiasm, effort and attitude towards having fun and giving the race a go is really what makes for a great event.

This event would not have been possible with the efforts of the 15th Brighton Cub Unit and their Unit Council who suggested running this event, the support of the District (in particular Karen Downes, District Leader - Cub Scouts, Glen Eira Stonnington District), leaders and parent helpers of 15th Brighton Cub Scouts, Cubs and Scouts who helped on the day and leaders from all of the participating groups. Thanks to David Southwick MP (Member for Caulfield) for opening the event - Click here to see David’s experience on the day.
